One will readily notice that repentance is NOT mentioned in this verse. Should we then conclude that repentance is not necessary unto salvation? There is a rule of interpretation which needs to be learned:

"Where the Lord has promised salvation only on conditions he names, while it may depend on more conditions than those designated in any specific passage, it can NEVER depend on FEWER ones.

Though repentance is not named herein as a condition of salvation, since it IS mentioned in other passages as such, it will ALWAYS be a condition for being saved.
